PM Modi Flags Off 3 New Vande Bharat Express Trains: Routes, Timings, and Stops
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched three new Vande Bharat Express trains on Saturday, August 31, via video conference. These new trains will improve connectivity in Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. They are set to boost religious tourism and make travel faster and more comfortable.
With these additions, over 100 Vande Bharat Express trains are now operational, connecting more than 280 districts across India.
New Vande Bharat Trains and There Routes
1. Chennai Central to Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express
- Route and Stops: The train will operate daily except Wednesdays. It departs from Chennai Egmore (Train No. 20627) at 5:00 AM and arrives in Nagercoil at 1:50 PM. Stops include Tambaram, Villupuram, Tiruchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Kovilpatti, and Tirunelveli.
- Return Journey: The return train (No. 20628) leaves Nagercoil at 2:20 PM and reaches Chennai at 11:00 PM.
- Tourism Boost: This train will facilitate travel to popular pilgrimage sites like the Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai and the Kumari Amman Temple in Kanyakumari.
2. Madurai to Bengaluru Cantonment Vande Bharat Express
- Route and Stops: This train will run six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. It departs from Madurai (Train No. 20671) at 5:15 AM and arrives in Bengaluru Cantonment at 1:00 PM. Stops include Dindigul, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, Namakkal, Salem, and Krishnarajapuram.
- Return Journey: The return train (No. 20672) leaves Bengaluru at 1:30 PM and reaches Madurai at 9:45 PM.
3. Meerut City to Lucknow Vande Bharat Express
- Route and Stops: This train will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. Train No. 22490 departs from Meerut City at 6:35 AM and arrives in Lucknow’s Charbagh station at 1:45 PM, with stops at Moradabad and Bareilly.
- Return Journey: The return train (No. 22489) leaves Lucknow at 2:45 PM and reaches Meerut City at 10:00 PM.
- Tourism Boost: This train will enhance access to key pilgrimage sites, including the Digambar Jain Temple and Mansa Devi Mandir.
